bio//
Colatura writes music that is sometimes dreamy, sometimes heavy, with pop-Colatura crafts a sound that is sometimes dreamy, sometimes heavy, with fuzzy guitars, catchy melodies, and emotionally charged storytelling. A staple of the Brooklyn music scene, the band relocated to Pittsburgh in 2024 and splits time between the two cities.
Colatura has played major festivals, including SXSW, NXNE, New Colossus Festival, and Seattle’s Capitol Hill Block Party, and has shared a stage with artists like Slow Pulp, Hinds, Nation of Language, and Pom Pom Squad. They have been described live as “like sunshine streaming out of an amplifier with its volume set at nine” (Full Time Aesthetic).
Colatura’s debut album, And Then I’ll Be Happy (2022), was celebrated with a release show at The Sultan Room in Brooklyn and a national tour. In 2024, they followed it with Suffer Dude and Do You Miss Her, an A/B side produced by Aron Kobayashi Ritch (Momma). Their music has earned praise from outlets such as Brooklyn Vegan, Under The Radar, Consequence, Austin Town Hall, and Atwood, and has been featured on Spotify’s All New Rock playlist and as the cover of Pandora’s AMP: Fresh Cuts station.
Colatura has been featured on radio stations such as KEXP, DKFM, WFUV, and WYEP, where they were also featured as Artist of the Week and performed a session live on air. This summer, Colatura returns with If I’m Being Honest, an EP produced by Nixon Boyd (Hollerado), out on Easy Does It Records August 1st. In addition to the release, the band is gearing up for a European tour via Annibale Records this fall.

"Gorgeous, nostalgia-inducing, 120 Minutes MTV-like dream pop featuring plaintive and yearning vocals, reverb-drenched guitars, driving rhythms and the band’s unerring ability to craft an enormous hook.”
- THE JOY OF VIOLENT MOVEMENT
“A dreamy, warm treat in the dead of winter”
- BROOKLYN VEGAN
“The upbeat surf guitar, blissful washes of synths, and brilliant bursts of melody make for a decadent dream pop reverie, recalling classic influences like Cocteau Twins as well as contemporaries like Alvvays or Yumi Zouma.”
- UNDER THE RADAR
